It is easy to see that your mailing
list is one of your most valuable assets, but do you really know how
to make money with it? Making money with your mailing list can be made
easier and more effective by the following guidelines.
1) Be cautious of third party lists and send your e-mails to a
permission-based list. You can work to build your own permission-based
list by encouraging your target audience to sign up for your e-mail
communications at every opportunity. Don't assume you have permission,
please ask for it!
2) Reach your subscribers more often and on time, but not too
frequently. By setting your newsletter to go out regularly once a
week, you can build a close-knit relationship with your readers. The
more you talk with them, the more they trust you, the more likely they
are to buy what you recommend. It is important to send your newsletter
periodically, and on time. However, if your newsletter is sent too
frequently (e.g. more than 3 times a week), then it will feel like an
advertisement or an imposition rather than a service or a gift.
3) Develop a content formula and consistent layout that works for you
and your readers. Some typical ingredients for newsletters include
tips, case studies, success stories, industry news and trends, short
surveys and etc. The layout of newsletters should be simple,
consistent and unique.
4) Write to an audience of one. Try writing as though you were writing
to one really person, a model who seems your ideal customer in your
mind. What do they do for a living? What magazines do they read? What
music do they listen to? Whenever you write an email marketing note,
you write it to that person. And when you write from a heart place
with the heartfelt intent of helping and connecting with another
individual, your whole list will probably feel that intimacy.
5) Provide a tip, recommend a product. Give value first with tips and
how-to information that will really help your readers. Then at the end
of your communication, you can say, "by the way, I found a product
that will help you do that... find out more about it here..."
6) Know the real problems your customers are experiencing and offer
tips and solutions to those problems. It's all about relevancy. If you
have a list of work at home mothers, they possibly don't want to know
about tips to clean your bedroom fast. However, if you have a tip or
product or service to help them with time management, that seems a
good fit.
7) If your list is too broad, you should consider breaking it up into
smaller lists by topic. For example, instead of having one big list,
you should have several of lists based on the areas of interest and
expertise. This allows you to address the specific concerns of each
individual and be right on target with your tips and offers.

Ink Cartridges
If you're having
printing problems, it sounds like it's time for you to invest in a new
set of ink cartridges. Maybe you only need a new black and white
cartridge or maybe you need color too. Whichever way, printing ink is
an essential part of our computing lives and we all need to make sure
we get the best and the right kind!
First of all, to
see what kind of replacement cartridge you're going to need, you'll
have to look at the one you already have in your printer. Just lift
open your printer's lid and the cartridges will scan across so you can
look directly at them. Your cartridge will have a number written on
it. The numbers will be different for black and white ink and colored
ink.
Once you find
that number, you can go to any local computer store (Best Buy,
Staples, etc.) and buy your ink refills. You can also order them from
your printer manufacturer's Web site (HP, Lexmark, Canon, etc). Just
go to their site and look for the ink cartridge materials. There are
also other places online that you can buy ink refills. You can do a
search for them with your favorite search engine and often, those
sites offer discounted prices, but be careful when ordering online.
Make sure the site is secure and don't give out any of your personal
information if you feel uncomfortable with something.
Sometimes it's
better to pay more at a local retail store than to be burned in other
ways.
