Why Advertise Online?

You know it's important to advertise, but do you know
what the advantages of advertising online are?  Here are
just a few:
 
Low Cost
 
The cost of print advertising is often measured in 'cost
per thousand' (CPM), that is, the cost to reach a given
number of readers. This can become very expensive if you
want to distribute to a large population, and who doesn't?
Comparatively, cybermall advertising can be very
inexpensive, and while it isn't as easy to measure the
numbers of viewers who read online advertising, it's clear
that your ad may be seen hundreds of times per day, every
day. When all is said and done, online advertising is more
cost efficient than traditional methods.
 
Revisions are Easy
 
Making modifications to a print direct mail piece is time-
consuming and expensive. Making changes online is a breeze.
Altering a little copy or repositioning a graphic can be
done and uploaded quickly and efficiently.
 
The Buyer Decides
 
Online menus give readers control over the amount of
information they get about a product or service. How much
or how little information that is displayed is determined
by the reader. This easy access to information makes the
sales process shorter...good for the buyer and good for the
seller.  Online reply forms make it easy for users to
request information when they do have questions.
 
No Time or Space Limitations
 
Radio, TV and print advertising are all limited by time or
space. Not so with online advertising. For example, there's
no time limit with an online ad. Online prospective
customers can take as much time as they want to read your
ad. With a 60 second radio or TV spot, they see it once and
it's gone until the next time it's aired.
 
Lead Time is Considerably Reduced
 
If you want to run an ad in a magazine, the lead time can
be weeks or even months. Online you can have an ad up and
running on a bulletin board server or in an Internet
cybermall on the same day you submit it. Nothing beats the
speed of the Internet.
 
These are just a few of the advantages of advertising your
products and services online. There are many more.
Advertising is an important element in growing your
business, and your business WILL grow faster if you
advertise online.

Tidy Up the Registry
 
The Windows Registry is a database of all your system's settings
and software. Whenever a Windows 95 or 98 program is installed,
removed, or modified, Windows updates the Registry to reflect
the change--or at least, that's how it's supposed to work.
 
Real life is less tidy. System crashes, buggy uninstall programs,
and plain old bad luck can clutter your Registry, leaving it full
of improper associations, bogus lists of installed programs, and
all sorts of other junk that can slow down and even crash your
operating system. If you really know what you're doing, you can
clean the Registry with RegEdit (the Windows Registry editor).
For most users, though, we suggest a safer alternative:
Microsoft's RegClean. This download hunts down and removes
bogus Registry entries automatically. It can also reverse any
changes you make and restore your previous Registry if something
goes wrong. Most uninstallers, such as CleanSweep, also clean
your Registry--and they do a better job than the free RegClean.
Make a routine of cleaning the Registry and Windows 98 will run
faster and more reliably.
