Hello Exchangers,

A "Warm Welcome" to all our new subscribers.

Times--They are-a changin'.  One of my favorite songs.
Maybe because it is so very true.  Gosh, America
is on the verge of war.  The economy is on the brink
of a mud slide, and internet businesses are stronger than ever.

I have finally got my creative thinking back.  I sure was in a slump
for awhile.  So, the business, though always booming, was at a
standstill in creative thinking.  As I mentioned previously, we are
currently working on our MarketingTrendz website, and also our
OnLine-Exchange website.  The OE website just got a small facelift. This ezine has been around for close to 4 years.
We have a great reputation, and the site speaks for itself. However, I have been thinking alot about our MT website.  It is our main directory for all the other sites.  So, I went back to the drawing board and asked myself, "What do I do for a living?" " What is my business about?" I stared at my website and answered my questions and studied the site to see if MY SITE answered my questions.  In many ways it did, but in some ways it didn't.  Too long of a story to go into.  But since not
all my answers were there, it is time to tighten up the site and answer my own questions and get the answers at my website.  So keep an eye out for major content change in the coming weeks.

In fact, our first change....
Our site is a marketing directory for businesses to gather important tools and resources in order to market their business efficiently.  So my goal is to provide MORE targeted assistance in this area.  Our first addition to MarketingTrendz is a piece of software that is so totally awesome. I love to write, but my a*d co*py is not always the tops.  In fact, my headlines need a lot of work.  This software instantly makes up 100 top headlines for your business with just one click of the mouse.
You fill in the questionnaire about your site, and BOOM, you have tons of headlines for A*d co*py, Sales Letters, promo's, banners, anything and everything.  And it costs next to nothing.  This is the best investment I have made in a long long time:

YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

...Until Next Time,
Debbie Solomon
editor of The OnLine Exchange

Jumbled Wires
By Dave Balch, "The Sta*y-at-Ho*me CEO(tm)"

«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»

I dare you... look behind your computer.  My guess is that
it's a big, ugly, horrendous-looking jumble of wires.  Looks
complicated, doesn't it?  How could that possibly make sense
to anyone?  How would you ever figure it out if you had to?

If you really think about it, though, it is really just a
lot of simple connections, each of which makes total sense
and is easy to understand.  Let's take a look:  right off
the bat you have the power cord for the computer itself.
The monitor has a power cord and computer connection; that's
two more wires.  And then there is the keyboard and mouse;
another two.  That's five wires so far.  You probably have
speakers, so there is at least one more wire from the
computer to one speaker, and then a wire from that speaker
to the other.  Seven wires.  Some speakers require their own
power; that power cord now makes eight.  What about the
printer power cord and computer connection?  Don't forget
the telephone connection!  We're up to ten wires, and this
is a simple system!  What if you have an external modem,
and/or external Zip drive, or...???

In this example, each connection is simple to understand and
its necessity is obvious, but when you look at ten wires all
running hither and yon behind your desk, it looks pretty
complicated.  In actuality, though, it isn't.

So it is with many things that we have to do to run our
businesses.  That big, dark mystery that is "marketing"
seems so complicated; but it is really just a number of
steps required to communicate the benefits of your product
or service to your target market.

Sales?  Sales consists of those things that you have to do
to move someone from "just interested" to saying "yes".

The point I'm getting to is that just because something
looks complicated doesn't mean that it actually is
complicated.  So, rather than get discouraged and decide
that you can't do what ever it is (also known as "giving
up"), break it down into some basic elements that are easier
to get your arms around.

For example, would you like to get better at using the
Internet?  URL's, search engines, browsers, Yahoo!,
directories, hyperlinks, e-mail, bookmarks, eBooks... wow!
That's an awful lot to learn!  Sounds really complicated,
doesn't it?  Maybe that's intimidating to you, but don't let
it be.  If you break it down into small pieces and then
master it bit by bit, you'll find that it's not too much to
learn.  First, experiment with your browser.  Just do
something simple.  Look in any magazine and find a web
address and enter it into the browser, or use mine:
http://www.TheStayAtHomeCEO.com.  It doesn't matter what it
is; we're just practicing.  What do you know... you're
browsing the Internet!

Try some different things.  Click here or there to see what
happens.  Just do a little at a time, and presto!  You're
cruisin' the information highway.

The next time you need to do something that just seems too
complicated, remember those jumbled wires.  It probably
isn't as complicated as it seems.

"How to Remove Programs Safely"

How to properly remove programs from your computer:

Windows 98 has added a little program that helps you
delete applications safely and CORRECTLY. Why correctly?
Because a lot of new software leaves entries in the Registry,
and unless you uninstall your programs, the excess code gets
left behind. Not so tidy. So when you want to uninstall an
application, follow these steps:

1. Click Start.
2. Choose Settings then Control Panel.
3. In the Control Panel window, double-click the Add/Remove
Programs icon.
4. Under "The following software can be automatically removed
by Windows..." select the application you want to remove.
5. Click Add/Remove and follow the instructions to remove the
application. It will show you dialog boxes to assist you in the
process.

When you remove programs, you may be asked if you want to
remove files called "DLLs". That's an acronym for Dynamic Linked Library file. These are shared by other programs. If you want to be real safe, just answer "No" to the question. Everything but the files in question will be removed. (Everything related to the
program you're uninstalling, of course.)

This is all very geeky, really. But the time may come when you
need to uninstall something. So use this. Don't just randomly
delete the files that make up programs, or you'll be in REAL
trouble.
