There was much rejoicing in the class as

got up, walked to the front of the class and took the professor up on his offer. As the last taker left the room, the professor looked out over the handful of remaining students and asked,
"Anyone else? This is your last
chance."
One final student rose up and opted out
of the
final. The professor closed the door and took attendance of those students remaining.
"I'm glad to see you believe in
yourself," he said.

BIZ-NOTE FROM THE EDITOR ______________________________ Hello OE Subscriber, I hope you are enjoying each edition of The OnLine Exchange Ezine. A "Warm Welcome" to all our new subscribers. Boy do I have a bone to pick! The other day, we received a certified letter. Very official looking. Inside was a complaint stating that the complaint received our ezine without asking for it, and he is suing us for SPAM. And attached to this letter was all the paperwork from Washington State, which emphasizes on the issues and legalities of non-tolerance for spam according to the state attorney generals office. And of course, was a copy of our ezine from Friday. This person goes on to claim that he is taking us to court unless we immediately send him $500 in settlement.
This ezine never, and I mean NEVER
subscribes anyone
who does not fill out a form and subscribes. We have been searching our files for the past month to find the form that he filled out. Guess what? In researching all our records, we found out that he has been subscribed at least since January, 2002.
Now, according to Washington State Law,
this person has
NO case! The law focuses on spam that is sent under faults pretenses, or uses fake mailing information. But instead of contacting someone who actually does those things, they contact us, a legit business. Talk about trying to use the law to make money. This is a blatant scam to try to extort money from an honest business. This person never thought we would go to such lengths to find the truth.
I am furious with this whole situation.
This is extortion!
And this is also a situation that all businesses need to be aware of. I am sure this person has sent many letters to businesses with threats of lawsuits. Don't be FOOLED!

So many new marketers come online, and

Maybe part of it has to do with some of the mantras we have repeated over and over.
One of those mantras is back end sales.
I don't think the high failure rate of
new online
businesses is due to lack of back end sales. The real problem is they aren't making sales period.
I'm guilty myself. I tell new marketers
to diversify,
start a newsletter, and work on getting those back- end sales.
Well I've been wrong.
The first thing any new marketer should
be focusing on
is making a sale. The old adage is still true, "Even the journey of 1,000 miles, begins with the first step."
Find a good product and start making a
few sales.
Once you've made a few sales, then you
can add another
product.
Start building your customer list.
Start focusing on making sales. Let your
business build
itself one sale at a time.
Make some walk around money.
Build your confidence.
Build your cathedral one brick at a
time.
Forget playing leap frog and skipping
steps. The first
sale is the hardest.
Get that first sale under your belt and
you're ready
for bear.
Build your business at your pace.
It's your journey.
As the Taoist proverb says, "The
journey is the
reward."

Some story, some detail of life, some slice of pie that tastes great--well, don't just savor it yourself, send it to your pals! Here's how.
Any page that loads in your browser can
be sent right in
your e-mail. (With the following caveat: this may not work for *all* e-mail clients.)
Ok, you're on a page. Go to the File
menu, and click. Then
select Send, and on the flyout menu, click 'Page by e-mail'.
Your e-mail client should load. You type
in the address of
the person you're sending to, and when they receive your e-mail, they have the info right there in front of them. You can even add a message to the page if you'd like.
Now, depending on how your recipient has
his e-mail client
set up, he may or may not see graphics. But the text should be there. That's the stuff that counts anyway. It's the words that impart the message. So try it. Send a page to yourself to see how it works. Just load any page in your browser, then try sending it to yourself. Why not try sending the home page of The Newbie Club to yourself and keep it in a folder in your email client. Then, whenever you wish to visit a particular page, just bring it out of the folder, click on one of the buttons on your OWN home page and Voila!
(Again, this may not work for everyone.)
