Clean that Mouse!
Is your mouse sluggish and hard to get the cursor where
you want to quickly? You can really give yourself a pain
in the wrist if you don't think to check your mouse to
see if it is clean on the inside. I would have bought 5 mice
by now if it hadn't occurred to me to twist off the
round plate underneath and take out the ball. Look inside,
you should see 2 bars going across and a small wheel,
skinny side facing you. Mine are constantly collecting gunk around them,
no matter how much I dust my desk. All you have to do is scrape the ring
of gunk off of these three things and place the ball back inside and
twist the plate into the locked position. Nothing technical, and as long
as you don't prod around inside, you can't mess anything up. The more
you work at the computer, the more often you will need to do this. It is
like having a new mouse, and it only took you 20 seconds.

Hello Faithful Subscribers,
I hope you are enjoying each edition of
The OnLine Exchange Ezine.
Please take the time to read this ezine. It is filled
with valuable information for you and your business.
Your Rights as a business on the internet. What are they?
What happens when someone copies your business ideas,
graphics and sites, word for word, design content and everything.
Can they get away with it? Is it worth spending money on a
lawyer to sue for copyright infringement? How do we get these
losers to stop copying other sites?
It is an outrage when you see these so called businesses copy others.
There is no law against using someone else's idea,
but when they are too lazy to even format their own site,
and take everything word for word from your site,
including the design and graphics, this is just simply unacceptable
and a blatant copyright infringement.
I have seen businesses literally forge testimonials to make
it look like they are running a legit storefront.
I have seen sites with business associate's testimonials on there,
but when I asked them about it, they never even heard
of the business.
There is action you can take, and we will be publishing
a full article about what you can do if this happens to you.
But I do want to give you an example. MarketingTrendz has been
a victim to such unlawful acts, by a so-called business.
This business has copied our web design site, word for word,
the design, layout and graphics. All this person did was
change the email address and the name. Now,
we see more pages on this persons site that is OURS!
All our ideas, concepts, designs, graphics, everything
has been stolen by ONE business. We were ready to start a lawsuit,
but then it dawned on us before we decided to plunge
into a legal battle...
If this business cannot seem to come up with any ideas except for
OUR's, and this business does not have the creativity to
even write a word that is not ours, than this person does not
know how to run a business. It is just a dead site in cyberspace.
I bet, the only hits to that site are the ones that the person
running the business makes, checking the site every hour to see
if there were any hits. Boy, I bet this business gets 50 hits a
day.
It is a shame that none of them are unique.
And to add alittle humor...
this business is so copy-happy that they have been publishing
one of our affiliate ads from our ezine, in theirs. So, they
are advertising some of our business and doesn't realize it.
It is horrible how desperate these excuses for a business can be.
I must say...it is a compliment knowing that this business thinks
so highly of our products and services to copy everything we do.
I know a few other businesses in the same predicament as us.

WHERE IS EVERYBODY?

I was recently reminded of a TV advert promoting a travel company.
In the ad a character was wandering about a wilderness calling out
"Is there anybody there?". The idea of the ad was that
everyone
had gone off on cheap holidays bought from the travel company.
OK, so what's the point!
I was reminded of this while searching the web for joint venture
partners for an extremely lucrative deal I wanted to offer them.
I was more than a little surprised at what I found;
or what I didn't find more like.
I couldn't believe how difficult it was on a lot of websites
to find an email address I could use to contact the webmaster
or someone at the company. Granted, some had one of those
featureless online message forms. I don't know about you,
but I find them very impersonal, somewhat akin to posting
a message in a bottle, tossing it in the sea and hoping
sometime someone will answer.
I much prefer a proper bona fide email address that I can enter
in the "To:" box of my email, and a name of a real person to
converse with. I'm sure I'm not alone. There are probably hundreds,
maybe thousands, of your potential customers jumping up with
a hand in the air at this point, shouting "Me to! Me to!"
The upshot of this is that some webmasters and companies somewhere
lost out on the opportunity of making a tidy sum all because
of a missing contact email address.
The moral of the story is don't make the same mistake on your website.
Include your full contact details, make it blindingly obvious
where they're located, and above all make it easy for people
to contact you.
Don't worry, you won't have a queue of clients forming
outside your front door, or ringing you up at all hours of the day
and night. What you probably will have, is more trusting clients,
safe in the knowledge that they know where you live and can
'send the boys round' to knee cap you if you stiff them. No sorry!
Got a little carried away there.
Including your full contact details on your website,
i.e. name, position, email, telephone and fax numbers,
and mailing address, will help your clients to have a little
more trust in you. By identifying yourself, they can hopefully
see that your not some 'fly by night' who's going to do a
'moonlit flit' before they get their goods. You're not are you?
Also, on the even more positive side, next time someone like me
comes along ready to offer you a stonking great joint venture
deal that's going to make us loads and loads of wonga,
they'll be able to find you won't they?

Reasons Not to Exercise
(thanks to Phil Tuccy)
1. It is well documented that for every
minute that you exercise, you add one
minute to your life. This enables you at
85 years old to spend an additional 5
months in a nursing home at $5000
per month.
2. My grandmother started walking
five miles a day when she was 60.
Now she is 97 years old and we
don't know where the heck she is.
3. The only reason I would take up
exercising is so that I could hear
heavy breathing again.
4. I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 bucks. Haven't
lost a pound. Apparently you
have to show up.
5. I have to exercise early in the
morning before my brain figures
out what I'm doing.
6. I like long walks, especially when
they are taken by people who annoy
me.
7. I have flabby thighs, but fortunately
my stomach covers them.
8. The advantage of exercising every
day is that you die healthier.
9. If you are going to try cross-country
skiing, start with a small country.
10. Last but not least, I don't exercise
because it makes the ice jump right out
of my glass.
