Ezines are the cheapest and fastest way to reach a lot of people, usually costing less than a classified ad in a newspaper while reaching thousands of highly- targeted readers. Here is how you can get the most out of your ad.

 How to create profitable ads...

 Tips for writing ads:
  • Observe other people's ads for ideas. What caught your attention, what didn't. Now use that to your benefit.
  • Your ad will be most effective when it promotes one product to one targeted market.
  • The headline is the most important part of your ad. Try to keep it no longer than 4 or 5 words. Use action verbs that appeal to the emotions or ask a question to catch attention. Type this in all caps for attention.
  • Offering something free to readers will catch their attention right away.
  • Keep your body copy brief and avoid give too much information. Use enough descriptive words to simply state what you are selling and still pique their curiosity.
  • Never be offensive or misleading, but use your imagination when writing your ad to make it something different that will stand out.
  • Avoid using all caps in the body copy, it is hard to read and is also considered rude, as if you were yelling.
  • End by telling the reader exactly how to respond to your ad. Keep it simple and make it easy, always including an email address & a web address if possible.
  • Always demand action. Deadlines encourage people to respond when their interest is highest.
  • Be sure that you proof-read and spell check your ads before placing. Also, be sure your web and email addresses are correct and in working order. One of the biggest reasons for poor ad response is wrong contact info!
  • Revise and test, over and over again. Test one revision at a time, or track each one, so that you will know what does best and where. It is best if you first run two to three ads in an ezine.

Tips for placing ads:

  • Organize your ads. Open a file and write various eye catching ads, big and small, in order to fit the various ad sites. We suggest coping all of your ads into a single document, separating them with a line of asterisks so that you can quickly distinguish one from the other.  Now, when you go to advertise and you need your ad, just open the ad file, locate the ad you wish to use, and copy and paste it into your ad window. This also allows you to have proof-read and spell-checked your ads, which is extremely important.
  • You must consider many factors in deciding which ezine to use for your ad. Look at the following: How long the ezine has been in publication, Number of subscribers,  Number of ads per issue, Who reads this ezine?, Cost of the ad, Which days of the week is it published?
  • Look for or ask for testimonies from people who have placed ads with the ezine, then contact them to be sure they are legit. That way you know you will not be wasting your money.
  • When you place your ad, you should know where it will appear in the ezine. Most ezines offer a variety of positions,
and the cost will vary. Some of the most commonly used positions are Sponsor & Classified. No category is better than another overall. A particular ezine may give different results depending on where your ad appears within that ezine. Running your ad only one time is not a good test.
